bingo. its a 'sport clutch'. only honda 250 sport quads have it. basically you can use it like a manual clutch to shift, OR just shift it like a utility quad with no clutch. it was designed to teach those who are used to an automatic cluth, manual shift atv and break them into the world of manual clutch, manual shift wheelers (sport bikes).

Never heard of it, but sounds like a really good idea! I may have to look into one of those when my son outgrows his 110cc auto. Sounds like a great learning tool for the kids or the inexperianced.
