i have a 2006 honda recon....on my last ride it all of a sudden died . so i took the air filter off and messed with the gas on, off switch and it started.. i rode another 300 feet and it died again .. this time i took the air filter off again and rubbed gas inside it and it started and i got home....now it wont start . it has a full tank of gas the spark plug is new...HELP!!!!!!!

 

When it dies does it shut down like someone shut it off, or does it starve out like it isn't getting gas and then shut down?

Anyway, I'd probably start by opening the drain screw on the bottom of the carb to see if you get a good steady stream of gas out of the drain tube.

You could also pull the spark plug, put the boot back on and set the plug on the engine so that the body is grounded on something metal. Then crank the thing and see if you have spark.
