2001 Honda recon crisis...:(

I guess you could go on a "camping" trip and make burnpile in the woods !! You will need a strong degreaser solvent to clean it out, see if there are any engine rebuilding shops that still use a "hot tank" to clean engines. That is a strong solvent heated up to about 160 degrees, guaranteed to flush out any crud in the pipe, and not harm the metal at all.

I'd suggest taking the cylinder and piston to a machine shop to have them measured, assuming you don't have the required micrometers.
Putting a new piston and rings will be a waste of time and money if the cylinder is ovaled, tapered, or just plain worn past service limits.
In that case, you would need to have the cylinder rebored to fit a slightly oversized piston. The machine shop would be able to tell you how much of an overbore would be needed to restore the cylinder (and thus what piston to order).
They may not even charge you to measure it, especially if you have it bored there.

Sounds like your float is stuck, keeping the needle and seat open, and allowing the bowl to over flow, or the float is bad, full of gas,so it sinks and lets extra fuel into the bowl.Or you just have a bad needle and seat assembly. If you are going to pull the carb out and check it, might as well get a good rebuild kit that includes the needle and seat, and replace it all, then you will only have to take it out once.
