LMAO, I'm rollin over here. I guess I just added gas to the flaming post. I didn't mean to come off that way. Sorry, OK!?
I was just trying to say that different machines have different abilities. I was not trying to minimize the advatages of 4x4 and reverse, MrMan. I thought that was pretty clear this and the last time. I am not afraid of the mud, it is just not what I go out to do.
Andrew I didn't mean to "spout off" at you, if a 400ex came with 4wd and reverse then it just wouldn't be a 400ex anymore, we'll maybe close with reverse, but not the same. That's why they have the Rubicon, etc...
I thought this was going to be a post from Paulrn talking about his new 400ex but then it turned ugly. So I think I'll leave this post alone and just shut the F' up now. haha... Flame on!

I thought Cannondale was going bankrupt? I was sad to see no GasGas quad, 300cc 2stroke with powervalve, sounded pretty mean but expensive and i trust Honda. What's this about cracked swingarms? We bang our 400ex's around and cant break anything. But i hate the way the plastic scratches soo easily.

Well I am still enamored with my 400ex. I have put 6 to 8 tankfulls thru it and haven't had a single problem. I have put Bandit XCR tires on the front and Maxxis All Tracs on the rear. More ground clearance, better traction and an improved ride. I really don't notice the higher center of gravity. The handling still seems unreal and the manual clutch is a non-issue. I am resisting the temptation to spend alot of money on it.
Just for giggles I rode the Polaris. What a huge, slow steering, bumpy riding tank this thing feels like. Notice I said feels like. After riding the 400ex then going back to the Polaris I am able to ride the Polaris FASTER than before. Still not as fast as the 400ex or with the ease of the 400ex, but faster nonetheless. This is puzzling to me. My intrigue is not such that I want to keep it, the Scrambler is still going to be sold.
Cannondale still owns a place in my imagination. Everyone needs to see one in person and at least see one in action. How many people think Cannondale will end up like Tiger did in the 80s? Check out the FX400. This thing is awesome and better yet seems to be full of potential.
Going riding!
