I just replaced the brushes on my starter and everything works fine. Cranks and starts real good. I also replaced the old battery with a new one at the same time. It really spins the starter good with the new brushes. The question I have is that when I go to start it and the starter begins to spin there is a slight high pitched sound like a whine or squeal that sounds like its coming from the starter, because it was not doing it before, of course I did not have a real good charged battery and the brushes were just about gone on one side. It does not hesitate to start right away. I put back everything in the order I took it off and can only figure it might be the new brushes with the new battery spinning the starter real fast compared to before. But I never recall it doing that from when it was new. Did I miss doing something while putting it back together or is it just the fast spinning with the new brushes?
