Default Mobil1 10w40 high mileage in rancher

I have two rancher es 350s. I don't like to use oil I can't get at Wally world. So for this oil change I'm using th mobil1 mentioned above. Anyone else running this oil in their rancher?

High mileage motor oils have addatives to "condition" old and dried seals and o rings, by making them swell to seal up better, plus have addatives to make the oil more "slippery" to lube the worn surfaces in a car. I dont think that would be a very good oil for a quad engine with a wet clutch system. Wally world should sell Valvoline ATV/Motorcycle oil, I would use that before dumping any car oil in my quad.

Thanks for the info guys. I believe this is the non moly stuff so I hope the clutch will be okay. I guess I'll be a guinnea pig because I'm running it in two of them. We're going mountain riding soon so I'll come back and tell you how it goes.

You can get by with running diesel oil because it doesn't have the friction enhancers that automotive oil has, so it won't plug up the clutches. I use Rotella 15W40 in a few of my machines.

I agree with that, I know many forum members who have been using Rotella for years with no problems.Plus, it is fairly cheap and available at all Walmarts.

Here's another endorsement for Shell Rotella oils in atvs. I run the Rotella synthetic in all our atvs and have been for several years.
