450 foreman stator

Default 450 foreman stator

i have a 2002 450 foreman, i recently put heated grips and thumb warmer on it. but now it seems to be to much draw on the electricle system and i keep losing 4x4. is there a higher out put stator i can buy? my battery is a new motomaster eliminator

The alternator should be able to cope with heated grips, they take less power than the lights. Did you wire them through the ignition? If not it is all to easy to leave them switched on overnight which will run the battery down, and a quad battery will be ruined if left flat for a few days.

If you can get a 30 amp ammeter, check if the grips are taking more power than the alternator is putting out with the engine reving above tickover. If they are, either the alternator or regulator is faulty.
