I recently took my motor in from my 300ex to get looked at because it was making a ticking noise.... they called me today and ... the cam,piston&rings wrist pin c-clips, rocker arms rocker shafts, valve seals are all shot. Any suggestions on what aftermarket parts i should put in it when its being rebuilt? I'm want to leave it the stock bore.

 

Webcam and a 10.5 compression piston.

 

You should think about getting your rockers hardfaced. I think they could still use your old rockers they just add a harder metal to the contact point.

Also, JE makes great pistons. Powroll.com they got alot of nice stuff for 300EXs. If it was me I would get a big bore sleeve for your 300EX. It probably wouldnt cost that much more now that you got to do so much.
