Just wondering something. In a few weeks i'll be racing a friend of mine on a stock mojave. So far i have a supertrapps pipe, uni air filter, and a few airbox holes drilled. It's also been jetted.
Will i destroy my friends mojave? Or will he probably still be able to keep up.
I've never drag raced him but when i do i want to destroy him.
What do you all think?

One other thing i want to add is that since i never have raced him or any other quad for that matter (i only got the quad in december) i really have no way of judging the top speed.
I have 20 inch turf tamers on the rear so if i'm right i think that would lower my top speed. Should i go with a 14 tooth front sprocket or just leave it the way it is. (It feels great the way it is but i dont want him to pull away with his stock kawi on the top end)
Any suggestions other than getting a 330 kit...LOL

Ive heard the Mojave is pretty quick. I think you should pull on him decent, but I don't think you will eat him up. But who knows. Interesting to see what happens if you try to make it as fair as possible.

believe me your 300EX will beat the Mojave while it is stock. My parents recently got me a new 300EX and it smokes the Mojave. The I also noticed the Mojave feels like a tank when being ridden. But it feels a lot more stable in the corners than my 300EX. But that wont matter if you are beating him when you are getting to the corner and if you put you weight in the right place you can still get him when you are cornering. Does anyone know how to choose a different user name? I no longer have the Mojave (it my brothers now) and I am 14 not 13 anymore.

Well everyone was right here about you being able to beat a stock mojave, BUT.... Noone mentioned that it all depends on the driver, if hes a good driver and your just a beginer he could have the holeshot. I would practice where ever you are racing and try to keep the front end down when pulling out and get used to when the bumps and turns are and know what gear to use and how much gas to feed it through the turns. I'm not saying your going to get beat by him, you said you havent been racing long so id get used to the speeds and terrain where you are racing. anyway Good Luck!

if you plan on running 20" tires all the time, then YES get a 14 tooth sprocket. this will bring you close to the stock gearing and get you your top end back. you will still have plenty of low end and you wont have to shift as early.

for me, I run 20" bandits for the trails and 22" dune hoppers for the dunes. but, the trails I ride are tight woods, I dont ever see 4th gear. when I slap on those 22s (stock gearing) for the dunes, the bike flys, I have more equally distributed power and tons of top end.

so, I say, if you want to make sure you smoke that mojave, get the 14 tooth.

I think a stock 300EX will beat a stock mojave so you should STOMP him.

Thanks for all of the replys. I am going to go out and buy a 14 tooth sprocket this weekend.
Just to comment on what 300expaul said about how good of a rider i am. I am a beginner (somewhat) but since i ride my 300ex every single weekend and every other day i get some time and he only rides every once in a while i feel i am a better rider....at least in my opinion...then again i've never raced him so i couldnt say for sure.
Thanks again
