Default Honda rancher carburetor problem

I have a I have a 2003 Honda rancher 350 ES and I’m having some carburetor problems . It’s just been cleaned and will start if I spray some starter fluid in it or move the jet up and down to get it to r. It’s just been cleaned and it will start fine but it will only ring of unless I take the top of the carburetor off remove the spring and pull the jet up-and-down with my finger if anybody knows what my issue is please help me out thanks

"to get it to r. It’s just been cleaned and it will start fine but it will only ring of"

The above does not make sense.

If the CD piston sticks, either the needle is badly off centre, or there is dirt between piston and carb body. So check the needle is OK and clean carb body and piston where they slide against one another, smooth out with metal polish if they are rough. Check the diaphragm for holes, the piston isn't going to lift if air can get in and destroy the vacuum.

Not sure what is going on it’s weird. If I take the jet in the piston out of the carburetor it will run rough but when I put it back in it will shut off
