Not sure what you mean, but if the plug gap is closing, either the new plug is too long and hitting the piston, or someone dropped something into the inlet manifold when fitting the new carb. Check you have the correct plug and, if you have, and the gap was closed by something in the cylinder, the head will have to come off to get the "foreign object" out, and check for damage to piston, valves and head.
