2000 Honda 250 won’t idle
#1
I have a 2000 honda recon that won’t stay idling. I have cleaned the carb 4 times. I set the mixture screw and messed with the idle screw. Then it started running good for about 2 mins. . The it started running rough then died the last time I cleaned the carb. I had to hold the throttle to keep it running. I’m to the point of digging a hole pushing the thing in there and lighting it on fire and walking away. Lol

The first thing is to change the plug. The cause of a misfire can be the carb, but it can also be electrical. Is there water in the float bowl when you remove it? As this causes the symptoms you describe. Personally, if you have cleaned the carb a couple of times and still have a problem, I would go for a Chinese Cheapo carb. Many on here recommend going for rebuild kits, but they are more expensive and the chances of you putting the carb back together wrong are multiplied, due to changing all the bits you wouldn't normally be removing.
