My neighbors took in a foster child about 3 months ago.....he is 9. He took it upon himself to vandalize my Recon Friday evening. Just got done speaking with the cops and have placed a no trespass request on him. Here is what he did to the Recon. Flattened 2 tires.....don't appear to be punctured. Took 3 gallons of used oil from a bucket and threw it on the engine........both sides. Unloosed various screws, nuts, and bolts and threw them onto the ground. Unscrewed the gas cap.

I am gonna drain the tank to make sure that he didn't put anything into it. My question for you is if he did drop screws into the tank, is it a pain in the butt to take the tank off to get them out? I have found all the screws other than the 2 black ones that hold the cover on the brake fluid thing on the right handle. I am hoping that he didnt drop those in. I also found three gold screws that I haven't had a chance to determine where they go since it was dark.

In regards to the engine, I am gonna wipe off the excess oil and spray it with a degreaser and wash it down. Any other advice???

 

The tank is pretty easy to remove. Just remove the side covers first. The hardest part is removing the fuel line.(tight space) Good luck.

 

you should check your gas to make sure it dosent have any thing in it. also check the breather lines and any exposed tubes (to make sure he diddnt pull them off. sorry to hear about your recon.

 

That is plain wrong. He vandalized one of the best quads ever made! Kill! Kill! Kill! Just kidding. At least press charges.
