Default Shifting issues!

I’ve got a shifting problem with my 07 Foreman 500 ES. Replaced shifter motor and still can’t get it to shift.

The fault should come up in Morse code on the speedo display as a flashing - where the gear indicator normally is. Count how many long, how many short. There may be more than one code, so keep counting until you are sure you get all of them. Codes for machines that old are up on the net if you look for them. However the most likely cause of problems used to be angle sensors, Honda sent out a bad batch about 2007 which all went wrong. More recently, worn brushes in the motors and dodgy shift buttons due to age, seem to be more of a problem. 350s and 450s used to have mechanical problems due to broken or cracked shift mechanism components, or the star wheel loose on the shift drum. 06 and 07 500s had a gearbox fault, but this caused them to jump out of gear rather than difficulties with changing.
