300EX or Warrior - Serious Problem!
#1
I have a buddy, with limited experience with quads, who is looking for a machine. He wants "something with a rack on the back". He is obviously not concerned with speed, but just to have a good time. I have seen where people have mounted a rack on warriors before, but never 300's. Are racks available for 300's? Also, if he is going to putt around, what would be the best machine? He is counting on me to help him find a machine and I would feel horrible if he were to invest and something were to go wrong. He is looking for used.

If your friend is just interested in "putting around", and he wants racks, why don't you suggest a Recon to him. I had one for about 2 years, and it was the best machine I have ever owned. It is absolutly maitnance free, it's got a pretty peppy motor for it's size, and it's plenty fast for a beginner without the hassle of a manual clutch. If I were you, this is the quad that I would suggest to him. They're also relativly cheap used, and can be modified to a certain extent (air filter, pipe, tires, etc.).

I agree, the Kawasaki Lakota has to be the best sport quad with racks on the market. I have had one of each... recon, lakota, bayou..etc and the Lakota is by far the fastest and probably will be the least to maintain. Not to mention if you can find a used one it will be priced right!
