well i finally got around to playing with the clutch. to find out i need a new clutch rod.
my question is thou while playing in there i grabbed on the clutch basket and it has a little play is this normal?
this is on an 88250r

 

A small amount is normal. The gears will have some play in them, but it should not be too much. How much is too much? Hard to say, I would say not more than 1/8" back and forth motion. My opinion! Take it for what its worth :-)

its less than an 1/8th of an inch. i also noticed the kickstarter gear moves also. but i figured when the case goes back on it stops the kick start gear from moving so much.
