Yeah..I did not mean to say that your doing your adjustments wrong....
I've just been around the scene a bit... I have not run across an instance where the valves needed such frequent attention. I'm not doubting you...I've just not run into it myself.
I know that my sport bikes with 32 valves run at alot higher rpms than any quad will ever think of running at. My bike got ridden pretty hard at the track in New Hampshire...never had to adjust like that....But quads are not sport bikes either.
Sorry if I sounded harsh.

As long as you don't go with a large big-bore kit or any radical mods(race cam, race porting, etc), you should not have a problem. Minor mods like pipes, high compression, mild cams, airbox mods, are all great, low risk mods.
My advice: TC Racing sells a 300EX power-up kit for $300 bucks. The kit includes a 10.5-1 Wiseco piston(stock bore), TC cam(med grind), TC valve springs, and CDI mods.
Then get some aftermarket suspension when you save up the money. And your 300EX will feel like a whole different machine.

thanks cstark. that's sounds like exactly what i'm lookin for. i'll swap my 250 head and crank and rod for a 300 and then look into that kit you were talking about.
Can you give me any info about where and how to contacting TC Racing, like a phone number or a website.
THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR HELP...everyone!!

Hey Honda 205x you don't have to swap your head with the 300ex. Performance will be the same. You could save some money there. Don't get a stock 300ex rod. Get the one TC carries or a Wiseco Hot rod if your going to tear into the lower end.

ahh thanks bermbanger!! you read my mind! i figured that since i had to replace all that, and while i had it tore apart, i might as well do it right. right?
so i figured that i would give TC racing a call, seems like the best place since you all recommend it, and tell them what i wanted to do and see what they could do for me, and see what kind of price range i was getting into.
THANKS FOR YOU GUY'S HELP!!!
i'll let you know what i find out and get into
