im 5-10 and 180. i fit fine. i got my recon when i was 14 and 300ex when i was 15. personally, maybe u should save up for another year and get a 400ex or better. i wish i did instead of the 300ex. but the recon- no regrets - it's the perfect quad for the family and to let friends ride. you can have fun and do a bit of work with it too...i mean i can't hold a .22 in my hand on my 300ex to go and shoot a squirrel or pigeon [small game is fun little things even though i apparently am more likely to become a murderer].

 

The Recon is a reliable all-round bike. You can't go wrong.
