Tires for 300EX? How good of a hill climber is the 300EX?

oh yeah
those tires take turns so good, i never loose my grip going around turns and can take them really tight. Those things are so incredably good in the mud i get threw more mud on my 300ex then my friend on his trx300.

I run ITP Standard Holeshot 21X7X10" front and 20X11X9" rear, on ITP T-9 rims. The rear rims are 9X9 (with an offset of 3+6), where the stock and Douglas rims are 9X8 (offset 3+5). My point here is that by using this combonation I get 3+ additional inches of width in the rear, for additional stability. Note that these tires are smaller than the 22" (both front and rear) stock tires that come on the bike. This makes the bike more agile than stock, which is important because this is strictly a trail bike. With these tires it handles every bit as quick as my kids Blaster.
I noticed you live in mud country. We ride in the desert and the Holeshots do great, but I wouldn't think they would make a good mud tire. The lugs are so closely spaced that the mud would build up and stay packed on the tire (mud tires usually have a more open tread pattern). Something to consider!

Forgot to mention hill climbing-The 300 isn't super powerfull, but the power it has is VERY TRACTABLE. All the power it has is USABLE and you're not just spinning the tires and wasting it (like some bigger bikes). My point is that it climbs OK for a bike that size, because you can put the power to the ground.
