About 10 minutes ago I was riding my 300ex.I was staying next to the road riding wheelie's along it.Well one time I went a little crooked and road a wheelie across the road.

Well I head down along the other side and slide down at the bottom of the hill and keep it pinned only to look over and see a sheriff's car!By then it was to late I was back on the other side of the road.

He signaled me to come over to his car so I shut the ex of and head over to his car.He said "What is your name young man?"I said my name and he said "I got a little something for you"

It turned out it was a supoena for my dad to testify in court about a wreck he was involved in.I was oh ok.Then he said where are you going on that machine.I said no where just riding around. He said well U know U are not supposed to have them on the road right and I said yes sir.He said I could have wrote U a ticket but seeing that U jumped over the road I don't see how I can.

So for U guys that have to cross the road to get to some trails. You should just build a jump on both sides so U never acctually touch the road.Last time I checked america did have free air space!

LOL, hey man, that's a good idea! If you just jump it, you aren't technically "riding" on the road.... so he can't give you a ticket.

Although, it is also against the law to ride on the sides of the road too, so you better get ready for a 20-30ft jump!

whats up with the a$$hole attitude?? Thats wrong to wish that on somebody, unless i guess if your a cop.

I don't think the sheriff was to worried about a kid riding his atv on a road that nobody ever goes down.It is a dead end service road with only my house on it.There is also a trailer about 2 acres over from me but nobody lives there.

I think he was just saying hey watch out and don't get yourself in trouble on that thing.

I could see if it was a higher traffic road me getting in trouble but the only people that go down it are my family and the mailman.Except of course the occasional person that wonders where it goes.

Peace

The only other problem with this story is that a cop cannot issue a warrant or any other kind of paperwork to someone other than the guy who was involved in the incedent

I don't see how they could serve the supeona for your dad on you unless you are at least 18. In this state, that would be an "incomplete service" and your dad wouldn't have to show up.
Oh yeah, don't know for sure if the air is free, but, the space above your property belongs to you, up to a certain point.
