porting
#11
why would someone want to give away their numbers? that would be a complete waste of r&d time & money!! one wouldn't be in business too long operating that way! that's why people pay for the premium port job, and then steal the numbers to try and wack out themselves with their dremel from home depot!!

Rick MacDizzy not only tells you his numbers for porting, he shows you the pictures on how to do it. He still remains busy.
The guy that works on cylinders for all the shops around here will do the porting for you, and saves you the money by not polishing the transfer ports. They don't need polishing, just a bit of smoothing-out and just about anybody with a dremel can do it.

All the numbers really tell you is basically where the powerband will be. If you buy a cam for a car, would you buy it without knowing the "numbers". Those are basically the same #'s as a port job uses. The engine builder can still have lots of little secrets, like port angles, and port widths, auxillary ports, and boost ports, how much is taken from the transfer ports. None of those things are told in the simple numbers. People should actually be more informed when they get a port job. Macdizzy's site is awesome and I reccomend that anyone wanting to get a port job should check it out.
