Is there any difference between the 2? I have a 98 300 EX and need to get a used swing arm since its just a farm bike.

The width is exact same, so it will fit in the either frame, but I think you might have to use the complete 400ex rear end also.

If you use the 400 swingarm than you will have to use the complete rear end.You will also have to weld a shock linkage mount onto the 300's frame.
