OK, heres the deal...

Last week I bought an ATC 350X that had a 250X quad engine in it. I happen to have a 350X engine that has just been sitting in my garage that I want to put in this frame.
For the first question, aren't all if not most of the electrical components the same between the two engines? Or will I need to purchase all the electrical components for the 350X, because I think what they did was just take everything from the 250X and strap it to the 350X frame and called it good. I will also need a headpipe, but have been unable to find an aftermarket one, ie... DG, White bros., FMF, Big Gunn, or Supertrapp. Anybody have a part number or somthing for an aftermarket head pipe, or will I have to buy a stock one from Honda?
Secondly, could anybody possible email me a picture of a wiring diagram from a 250X? I really don't want to have to purchase a repair manual for an engine that I will only need to look at once. And just for kicks, maybe the 350X diagram too?

Hey, I am in the middle of doing the 250x/350x conversion. I believe the 250x and 350x electronics are pretty close. In doing my research I've heard something about just switching two wires somewhere, not sure. I would think you would have to do something to the cdi as well. I just opted to just use the whole 350x wiring. I do not have the 250x wiring in electronic form but you probably can find it on the internet, I found this wiring schematic of the 350x wiring , just do a google or dogpile search and you should be able to find everything you need.

As far as the head pipe you should be able to find one easy on eBay both aftermarket and stock.

Hope that helps.

By the way the 350x conversion is going awesome. I can't believe Honda didn't build this!

Powroll makes an exhaust for the 350X, I think.

Thanks to all that have replied...

This conversion, is just to stick the 350X back into an ATC frame. The frame had a 250X engine in it, that the guy had apparantly ripped out and stuck in his quad. We do have it running, but it will only run at an idle, and for about 5 seconds at a time. I am not sure what the problem is, but my dad and I think its somthing in the carb. These engines have been sitting around since they were new, so there might be a stuck float or somthing plugged up. I wonder if it could be the electronics not allowing for any kind of throttle, because whenever we give it any slight amount of gas it shuts off.
No luck on exhaust yet though, my dad stopped at Honda the other day and you can still order OEM head pipe for it, I was just thinking that it would be cheaper to find an aftermarket system. I can only find silencers though and not the entire head pipe too!

I put a 350x in a 300ex and learned a few things: the cheepest exaust system is the cobra through Denniskirk.com part#44-157 $104.99 This acording to catalog. As far a the wiring diagram I am lost I just put on a complete 350x wireing system, Honda only item costs a mint start calling atv salvage yards. that is about all the help I am good for.
