Seems like more fuel would make it run rich. If you run 50 to 1 do you change your jetting if it came from the factory running 32 to 1 as in my KDX 200.

I'm not KNOWSALOT, but I will say that yes, in theory, you will be running rich (fuel wise). This is because you have displaced the oil with more gas. Therefore, you may have to go down on the main, or needle.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

NO, you will not have to re-jet. It has to with the type of oil. That's why the recommendations vary with different oils. After this mixture enters your carburetor, it is not any leaner or richer than any other pre-mix of the same type. It sometimes is a factor when you are dealing with syntetic variations or almost alway matters when running bean oil, but to your common pre-mix,..it hardly ever does.

Every two stroke that leaves out the door is with a full tank of 93 octane gasoline and mixed 50:1 with Golden Spectro. There have never been any come backs for jetting related problems and I would say roughly 80% of our customers continue to run the GoldenSpectro the life time that they own the machine. As long as you have been running a regular blend pre-mix oil, you will NOT have to re-jet on an engine that is in a good state of tune, by swapping over to an oil of the same type that recommends the 50:1 ratio.

No trying to argue with you KNOWSALOT, but I have ALWAYS heard the opposite.
Still seems like you might need to change the jetting if you go to more fuel and less oil. You are effectively adding more gas to the mix when removing the oil Especially if you go from 32:1 to 50:1

Sure your bike will run with the richer mixture, but it won't be as spot-on.

I've heard of people who "play" with their jetting by simply adding or removing some oil from the pre-mix if they don't happen to have the correct main jet due to weather/temperature changes.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]
