300EX or Warrior
#21
warrior02,you started this thread with every intention of getting a warrior, you already have setin your mind what you want.so i'm not very clear as to why posted this ridiculous thread.
it seems to me like you just wanted to start some crap with other people.and when you do ask for advise it's not very polite to post new replies telling people off and being rude they are giving you their opinoin cause thats what you asked for.if you're not going to like what people have to say then don't post .

oh and by the way i highly recommend the 300ex to warriors are just plain junk.nobopdy even mentioned the reliability factor here,or the fact that the warrior has terrible shifting,it's very narrow and and does not handle for $hit.and it's just barely faster then a 300ex.the 300ex is a superior machine and i'm 6'2" and i have no problems riding one.

For recreational riding just buy the quad you are most comfortable with. The main reason I got the Warrior was because I din't feel cramped on it like I did on the 300EX (I am also 6'2" but as I said if you feel most comfortable on a 300EX then get it) and because of the sixth gear. My Warrior had low handle bars when I got it so that probably made it a better fit also.

the only reason i said that was because check out what he has said in other threads. ANywase why woudl i come in here and try to start something? I was asking what one to buy, and actually i'm most likely not gettting a warrior, i have my eyes set on a 400 ex now. SO sorry forget the thread don't right anymore if you don't like it.. k?

I have a(new to me) 250r,98' banshee,99'warrior,2000' 300ex if i were u i would definately stick to the warrior. Not only is it faster in a drag but it has its other advantages. i have problems with my 300 sometimes such as my tie rods and such.I sold my warrior last week to buy a 86' 250R. I definately miss it already. Im also selling my 300ex for $3,200. I am also 13years old

Ok, here's the flat out truth, when it comes to power the 300EX and warrior are equal. The only reason the warrior is faster because it has 6 gears that are a wider spacing. Bring the quads to a track and watch the Honda run better lap times. I have a friend that is going to school for motorcycle technology. They have a dyno for fourwheelers and motorcycles. He ran my 1987 STOCK 250x, it has the stock exhaust, stock carb(with a dead spot), stock bore, stock air filter and jetting. Its peak power when ran through the gears was 18.8 hp to the rear wheels. The other week he dynoed i believe a 96 warrior. It's peak power was 19.1 hp to the rear wheels. This machine is completely stock also on a fresh rebuild. I hope that you realize that CC's dont always mean everything. Its the technology and engineering put into the machine that make them put power out. The warrior's power IS over rated. So please take this into consideration. Ever noticed the head pipe on a 300EX comparted to a warrior. The thing is so restrictive. Get a bigger header and let that thing breath and you will have a quad. The 300EX has much more potential compared to the yamaha equal. Please take that into consideration when choosing between these two machines... Thanks for you time!! Happy riding!!
