The chain makes it more of a "sportier" quad so i would never want to take that away from the 400EX but on the other hand the 250ex is shaft driven which makes it less sporty and alot of people don't like that so i think the only add-on Honda should make to the 400EX is reverse and more speed!

The shaft is heavy and makes changing the gear ratio on your machine, extremely difficult and expensive.

Well,....Nothing is happening this year.

Honda has all the information on the 2003 400EX posted on their web-site now. Nothing new, including the price. It will sell for the same price as last year.

This isn't a good move considering you can get the Z400 with more power AND reverse for the same cash.

If the Z400 handles anything similar to the Honda400EX, it's curtains for Honda till next year........unless they plan to unveil something later in the year........which wont become available till next year.

Honda dropped the ball this year big time!

Oh....Honda will reveal any more potential new models at their dealer show in September. That's where the CRF250 is going to be announced.

Hopefully, there will be some announcments concerning ATVs...or to be more speciffic....SPORT ATVs.

I'm a honda loyalist but I hope they start producing a better quad soon. They have to if they want to stay in the market.

Heheheheheheh

Honda doesnt need to change the price of the 400EX: Honda knows the Z400 ain't-no-Honda. I'm EXTREMELY glad Suzi is back, but am VERY inrterested to see if good old Suzi reliability has changed at all...

Oh and reverse is useless to a good quad rider...seriously.

Bottom line though-Honda may lose some sales due to not having a feature that is on all the other comparable sport quads: reverse, liquid cooling, high-HP.

Dacuteboy4u - I don't know how you could compare your 250ex to a hi-perf. quad. If they made a hi-perf quad w/ a shaft drive, sales would suck for them. Most people w/ 400ex's, Raptors, DS's, Shee's, and Dales either race, ride dunes, or do a lot of jumping around trails... A big part of all 3 of those activities is getting big air and NOBODY wants to go big on a heavy shaft driven quad. Not to mention, it would be way to hard to adjust your gearing. I'm not saying the 250ex's are bad quads, I'm just saying it would be pointless to drag a 400ex down to a shaft driven quad.
