$7,599 is quite high. That surely should include disc brakes, locking differential and an extended service contract! Drum brakes are not up to the latest standard. They are sealed for only a short time and after that they wear brakes shoes like crazy! My friend had a Foreman ES with drum brakes and he chnged them constnatly...that is why he now owns a 650 Kawi (he only paid $6350 out the door!)

My brother still has a 84 Big Red with the original brakes. Honda does put a red plug on the wheel to drain them if water some how gets past the seals, Mine has always been bone dry.

I agree,Honda is really missing the boat by not having a 4x4 locker mode and by still using old drum style brakes in the front.BTW,the red plug is not to drain water, its to adjust the star wheels, thus adjusting the shoes further into the drums.

Though drum brakes may not seem like the greatest pick, it is hard to tell how they will preform until the machine has been thoroughly tested.

The Rincon is probably priced that high because Honda is nuts about new technology and if people remember correctly, the Rubi is most likely the most technologicly advanced machine ever.

I have a Prarie and its great, I'm sure Honda did as much as they could to top it.

I have friend who recently bought a Honda 650 dirt bike. The bore and stroke are the same as the Rincon so it may be basically the same engine, probably detuned for ATV application. Honda offers a "power up" kit for the bike which removes the flow restictors in the intake and exhaust. With these simple mods it cranks out 57 hp!

So, again assuming the Rincon engine is closely related to the bike it looks it has the potential for lots of power.
