Went out yesterday with my wifes 350 Rancher ES . Most of the ride reverse wouldn't click in so I had to use the manual shifter . Every once in awhile it would work . My question is , has this been a problem for anyone else .

I don't have a Rancher, but I have a 450es. Sometimes when mine is cold or if it is idling a little fast it won't go in reverse. You might try turning the idle screw down a bit and see if that helps. I believe the ESP prevents you from going into reverse if the motor is idling to fast.

I had this problem the other day. The problem is the reverse sensor on the bottom of the transmission. If you look on the bottom back of the motor you will see a little wire with a rubber boot on it. This connection gets loose and doesn't make contact. I cleaned and reconnected the wire and it works great now.

The above info is just another reason I like this place besides the good people.
