I haven't done this to any of the later model Honda's, but on the older ones, we just took loose the neutral switch wire and grounded it to the frame. The neutral light would stay on all the time regardless of what gear you were in, so we usually just disconnected the light.
I have seen a few posts in here regarding this. You might want to run a search on here for more info. I saw where one had took a safety clutch switch from a 400EX and used it as the neutral safety switch on the rear brake lever of a Foreman.
Another great place to look for mods like these are at highlifter.com
They have a much more broader member base that consists of mostly utility riders....which is who yopu are going to have to ask to get a good response.
