When I ride my ATV, and have it in 5th gear, it feels like it's still in 4th gear. I have read that the 2000 models had a problem with the throttle cable or something that made it feel like this. Does anyone know anything about this? How can I fix it? Please help, because I would like to be able to hit 5th, and not feel like I'm still in 4th. Thanks.

Well, it's hard to explain, but it's like the engine hits a brick wall or something. The quad's engine and transmission is stock. It's like the rev limiter kicks in, but way too early. If you've ridden an ATV and the rev limiter kicks in, you know what I mean. Please help.

Souns like a pesky, "I can't get enough fuel" or " I can't get enough air" into the motor.

1st test,, Pull ruber boot off of carb, Then stand behind quad and look into the carb as you slowly depress the throtle to the bar.

The slide should go all the way up? If not adjust.

If the first test does not reveal anything. Then you may have dirt in the carb. Arrrrrrrr..!! Drop the bowl on the carb and clean. And check jets for blockadges.

You may want to have this done by a pro.

The same thing happened to me too. Found the jets were plugged up. I cleaned them and installed an inline fuel filter and haven't had any problem since.
