Default Improvements on 250EX

What are some things I can do to improve my 250 EX, I have not done anything to it yet. I would like some more power, but noise is often an issue where I ride. Also, do they have a better seat for it? Any and all thoughts will be helpful.

Better rebuildable shocks & lower profile tires would help handling.

There is an article in the newest ATV Action on a modified 250EX for budget oriented people. It apparently improved there's a lot. They had shocks, tires, bumper, exhaust, new steering stem, K&N Airfilter and Jet Kit, and I believe nerf bars also. I know what you mean about the seat, I stand almost the whole time I ride my brothers, its like riding on a board.

Did they say anything about the noise levels?

get sport style tires on wider off set rims and you'll be able to ride harder and be faster in the corners. 20 inch rears and 21 inch fronts will make it a little lower to the ground which will also help handling and gear it a little lower. You'll loose some top end with 20 inch rears but you'll pick up a little bottom end/ acceleration. I would also say pipe, filter and rejet as well. If you could afford doing it all at once you would notice a definite improvement.

If you can find anyone with a Cannondale that is selling the stock Speed or early Cannibal tires/rims you could probably get them cheaper and they not only have a wider offset on the rims but they will bolt up to your 250ex no problem.

I don't remember anything about sound levels, any aftermarket exhaust is going to be louder though, some louder than other though.
