My water pump has about a 1/4" inch play to each side, is this normal? also my radiator overflow hose throws out alot of water like if its overheating but its not. Its not spraying it out its just lets out drops. thnx 4 responses in advance

 

Your water pump will have a little play by turning the impeller but none up and down or left to right. Let me guess you are not running an overflow bottle are you? Most people make the mistake of filling the radiator all the way up, water just like most everthing expands when it gets hot so it tries to go to the overflow for later use. Try leaving the top tank of your radiator 3/4 of the way full not all the way and see if it still leaks.

 

Thanks but its an '86 it doesnt have an overflow bottle (i dont think), but ill drain it and fill it 3/4 and see if this works, cause i did fill it to the top[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]
