Thinkin of goin to 4stroke (2stroke too unreliable)

I will probably get flamed for this but I test rode a Z400 and I didn't think it was all that great. It had OK power (just slightly better than the 400EX) but the suspension left a lot to be desired. The steering is not very responsive and the suspension feels mushy - if you have ever ridden a 250R more than likely you will not be impressed with the way the Z400 feels especially in turns. It might be a decent quad if you actually took and spent another $1000 and put better shocks on it and lowered the suspension some - I think the cornering problem comes from the fact that the thing sits so tall. It is definitely not a quad you want to get on and try to power slide corners with it until you get used to all the "body roll" it has... The Raptor has a lot better power - it is really torquey with the stock exhaust, but it is a whole different animal when you actually put a better flowing one on it....

my friend mike is about your weight and he won an expert mx championship on a rap, so I don't know it all depends, but once you get weighing, 250r's aren't much lighter than a z or rap, kinda scary

250R weighs 326 pounds, Z400 weighs 372 pounds, Raptor weighs 398. Raptor weighs 72 pounds more than the 250R which if you think about it 72 pounds is a lot of weight when you are talking about a 326 pound machine that is like what? A 22% increase in weight?
But if it is any consolation to you, I am 115 pounds and I ride a Quadzilla which weighs close to the same as a Raptor - 392 pounds...
My 300EX weighs 375 which is a little heavier than the Z400, and then my 250R... but it weighs a little more than a factory 250R because of the motor that is on it.... Believe me, the extra weight on those quads is noticeable when I go to push them around... When my 250R was still stock it was so easy to move around, the LT250R was even easier, but it is funny the Zilla doesn't feel as heavy moving it around as my 300EX does main reason is the extra length on the Zilla I guess...
