Rancher ES Foot Shifter?
#1
Does the Rancher ES have the foot shifter as a backup, in case something goes wrong with the electric shift? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't/don't the 450's have the foot shifter backup? I looked at the neighbor's Rancher ES and didn't see any place for the shifter that's why I'm asking. Thanks.

Greetings,
The 450ES has a shaft on the side of the transmission that can be "wrenched" to change gears. They provide a tool for this, actually a flat box wrench of a sort that fits in the storage compartment. Its good if you shut it off and can't get it back to neutral (which I know many people say hasn't happened to them, but did to me) or if it just gets confused or stuck in the cold (which I know many people say hasn't happened to them, but did to me). As noted above, it will get you home or get you started, but its not something you could use for genuine transportation.
