Rincon Question..
#1
Got a question for all you good people who own a Honda Rincon.. I've been hearing about a transmition problem. I've heard you can drop a trans from going into forward gear then reverce to fast? Is that true? Have you had any problems with the quad? Before I buy such a new bike I would really like to know how there holding up. I'm thinking about waiting a year so they can fix any problems that should come up, Or should I say work out the bugs. Any major bugs out there? ThankZ!

almost 1100 miles in less than 4 months and nothing wrong. i have not had a problem with the trany or heard of the problem you mention. i am guessing, however, that like anything else rolling forward and suddenly dropped into reverse, there could be problems. i usually dont ride/drive this way so wont be trouble for me.
good luck.
good luck.

so you want to know about the ricons tranny I work at a dealer and we sell alot of ATV's each year close to 800 units new. and we are a honda car dealer also the only problem we have see and talked with honda is some people don't shift them into foward gear corretly and have had two grind going into foward gear. honda stands behind what they have without any problem and do alot of good deeds to others some shouldn't get that's my opion far as forward to reverse hurting the tranny I would think that if you would do it with your cars or what ever atuomatic you have and this doesn't creat problems then go ahead. Also honda offers extend warrenty buy it, it's the best insurance.

I would imagine you could damage the subtran by doing it, like any other subtrans on a quad. This can be fixed without engine removal BTW. The Rincon has one of the smoothest subtrans I've ever felt. It would make it easy to shift from drive to reverse fast. The other mfg. I have personal experience with is Bombardier, and they are much clunkier.
