Default 300 ex Problem

I am working on a 98 300 ex for a friend and need help. The problem is that it seems to run out of gas going up hill. It idles fine and starts right back up when it stalls out when going up hill. I took the carb apart and looks fairly clean although I did not put any carb cleaner to it. I also bypassed the inline fuel filter thinking it was clogged but no difference. Can any body help me with this problem?

Sounds like your float may be too low, with a very low level in the bowl, it could be starving for fuel when it isn't level, like when you go up hill. Give that a check, and while you have it apart, shoot some carb cleaner in all the ports just to make sure.

Sounds like your friend should have sent his quad to someone else to be worked on

I found the problem, it was the little bowl before the main fuel line coming out of the tank. The thing was full of crap and was not letting enough gas to flow through.
