You will not gain any speed by putting a cam in your 450,but you will gain alot more torque..Me personally am not a fan of cams in ATV's,you get into to many reliability problems when installing a cam.Now I have owned 2 different 450's in the past,both with several mods a S model and a ES model and never did I have any reliabilty problems with either..I have a 03 Vinson 5 speed now that is a POS..It has been in the shop 3 different times and is going back again in the morning for the same problem..The transmission has givin me fits ever since I bought the ATV..Granted the Vinson rides better,handles better,has a few more features,and is alot faster on top end,but if I had it to do over I would not trade 1 of my old 450's for 3 Vinson's.Suzuki Customer Service doesnt care about there customer's and are not very helpful when it comes to trying to resolve problems that the 5 speed Vinson has..I am not the only person that is having trouble with the Vinson 5 speed and Customer Service,if you do some searching on other forums you will find several guys who wish they would have never bought a Suzuki product!!

 

for the money...if you want speed get NOS system, that way your *** can pucker up when you get into the throttle. As a side benefit you don't have it running all the time, that way you save gas. But 50 mph is tops for my 02 Forman but 50mph on dirt road is just plane insane on a utility quad. Best of luck........

 

Web Cam seems to offer a pretty aggresive profile cam, its bigger in lift and duration than the rec cam for the 400EX.

I know thw rev limiter is going to limit my top speed with stock tires, but I figured if I could develop decent HP I could put on some 26/27" ITP tires that would boost top speed.
