I would say yes. That should push the 250 grain saboted bullet pretty good, you should be able to come up with some fps estimates by looking around on the internet etc at comparable loads. Or of course if you have a chrony or a friend with one, send one through and you can then estimate ft lbs of energy.
energy= fps squared x bullet weight in grains/450,400.
Example you shoot these at 1500 fps. 1500 x 1500 x 250 = 562500000 divided by 450400 = 1248 ft lbs energy, plenty for a whitetail (at reasonable range) especially given your bullet diameter.

Yes...it will do just fine. I shoot 2 50gr pellets and a 295gr PowerBullet. Some might not believe, but on paper I am more accurate with my Encore(T/C) than with my 300Mag rifle...who woulda thunk it?

I have pretty tight groups at 100yds with 100 grains. I am going out this weekend w/the Encore and I plan to see what type of groups I can get with 150 grains. It wont hurt a thing. I did try 150 gr's while it was sighted in with 100 gr's...omg....8" high w/150 gr's...lol

Hey okiedude, if you could let me know how that experiment goes and note how much more recoil there is, I would be even more appreciative than I already am now with your help. I'd love to have true 200+ yard accuracy, but don't want to blow my shoulder out of place in order to achieve it, ya know? Thanks!
