Default Swisher dump bucket

Has anyone used the swisher dump bucket and what size wheeler is recommended? Was looking at the kodiak 450 but the dealer said it wouldnt be enough, now plan on the 700 grizzly. Is there a way attach the universal hook on this new model?
Thanks for any info.

I have the swisher system that I use on our 360 Prairie. I have used this machine a lot for moving everything from bark dust to gravel and wet cow poop. If your dealer says the 450 won't handle it I would suggest you look at a different brand of ATV. I always run out of traction way before I run out of power. The real limiting factor is how much weight the tires will handle. More power than what the 360 has would just result in more wheel spin and greater strain on the equipment and very little or no increase in productivity. Using the plow to backfill behind a trencher required adding weight to the front and rear racks to increase traction. Even then I had way more power than I could utalize.

I have left the stock Dunlops on the ute as they make a good "safety valve" for the rest of the machine. Heavier tires would result in the ability to pick up more weight but the suspension is right at maximum capacity.

You will want to mount your winch high, right up level with the front rack, to get good lift height on the bucket and blade.

As a side thought on this. Swisher has been excellent to deal with and willing to answer any questions. When my equipment arrived the box had been split open by the trucking company and a couple of bolts and a spring were missing. Called Swisher and two days later the parts came UPS at no charge.

Does anyone know how the mounting kit hooks up to the wheeler in the front. Do you have to drill holes?

No drilling involved, kit comes with assorted brackets for different machines. If you have any problems just call Swisher, numbers are in the instruction pack, and be prepared to have the best help ever. Very good company to deal with.
