Just wondering again...
Looking at purchasing a ATV cover for my 2002 Kodiak.

First time deer hunting with an ATV this fall. I hunt in a shotgun only area, any info. or comments would be deeply appreciated.

Should I buy black or green or maybe CAMO?
Which brand is best or worse?

I like to cover my ATV while I'm sitting in my tree stand and I thought camo would be best.

If Camo, how far should I park my covered ATV from my tree stand?

I wouldnt park your ATV within 500 yards of your tree stand... But I wear rubber boots when walking to the tree stand and also rely on having NO human scent around. Around here the large bucks will circle you 3-5 times before you can call or rattle them in. If they encounter anything that scares them while circling your stand, then your Fukked! Good luck man!

I bought a cover for my Sportsman....never used it...too small!!! I try to park it in some ground cover(brush, behind a pond damn etc.) I try to literally drive through a bush and park it in the middle of it to camo it. The only thing that got spooked by it(I can see it from my stand) was a bobcat. He wasnt sure what to do....he froze for about 5 mins when he saw it. Around here the deer dont get too spooked by stationary quads....its when they are moving that you see the white flag.

I sued to park mine about 300 yards away and walk in . but lately I just smash up in some brush within 50 yards of my stand . Have had Deer walk right by the quad and never spook . Have taken four Bucks this way so far . I use portable ladder or Tree stands . i have hunted all my life and was always amazed when we used to build permanent stands . we would be banging away or running a Chainsaw and Deer would come in to check us out .

Do you have a GPS to mark the spot if you use a camo cover? I've heard of guys coming back from hunting and spending the next couple days trying to find their quad back! Sounds pretty funny, but I bet it's not so funny at the time.

Go to your local wal-mart, buy an 8x10 camo or grean tarp for $10.00 ,then bungee it down across your quad...rolls up small and if you loose it,your only out $10.00 instead of $40.00....
