Hello. New member new Polaris problems
Hello everybody,
I'm new to the Polaris world and I'm hoping someone can point me the right direction with this problem. I'm working on an 04 efi 700 sportsman that has an electrical issue I can't figure out. I have the dreaded E showing on the gauge, I'll explain what I've done so far. I think I'm into more than I thought originally. First off I broke the cover on the rotary switch as a starting point to test and it appears to be fine, I moved onto the resistors and found one dead one, I managed to get the rubber off the circuit board and am just waiting for the resistor to show up so I can solder a new one on. I have continuity throughout the wiring between the resistor pack and switch. The two things that have me stumped are that the brown/black wire at the rotary switch has nothing and I'm not sure if it's actually supposed to be a ground or power and the fact that the white wire that's feeding the resistor block also has nothing at it. If I attach the brown/black at the switch to a ground it will carry right though to the gauge plug. I have a sneaking suspicion that either the gauge or the ecu has something wrong with it, both costly mistakes if it's not after replacing them. I don't have access to parts just to try to see if it works. Any help will be appreciated. Sorry if the wire colours aren't correct, I'm colour blind.
Thanks in advance
