Default Any advice for this first time ATV purchase

I'm thinking of buying a an RPS 200cc. Is it a good ATV? Is it pretty quick?

Welcome to the forums.

Guessing that is Chinese brand, so the simple answer would be no. Great learning experience. You'll learn to fix things and track down hard to find parts.

It is in all likelihood a Chinese quad. Avoid it like the plague. You're better off saving your money up and buying a mainstream brand. Can find Honda Recons with a 250 on the used market for about $1000 or so. Very reliable and can be quick enough to kill you. It's all relative. Most 200cc class machines aren't what I would call quick. But they can be very fun and useful.

Default China really

If folks keep buying this china garbage it will never go away! Why buy a pile of shjt when for a little more you can own something that works and runs 4ever! I have a custom leather shop and DON'T use anything imported. Japanese products aren't to bad my 2001 Yamaha beartracker 250 recently bought for $400 it had a hard life with the 2 boys, had no brakes, back tires turned backwards (easier to spin) I've put another 400 in it with tire complete brake job rebuild all wheel cylinders and master cylinder, replaced wires ripped off all switches and lights and cleaned up the plastic. For about $900 total I have a A1 reliable machine.

If you want a small quick machine look for a used Blaster, they are not for full size adults but quickest small machine out there. Two stroke so rebuilds are needed every couple years. Cheap and parts are availiable. Stay away from Chinese unless you just want to sit and look at it.
