Hello, new here. I'm having issues with my sons 110cc taotao quad. I bought it used and had numerous issues from the start. It wouldn't run when I got it. Ended up replacing many parts.
Starter, kill start switch, carbuerator, ignition coil, spark plug and CDI box. Ended up being the CDI box. It ran great all last summer and fall after that. This year it wont run. It will start briefly and run while I give it throttle but dies as soon as I let up. I put a new carb in, again, but it didnt help. Have tried adjusting screws on carb, no good. I noticed the stator cap had come off, have no idea when. Got a replacement now. I opened up stator cover and it looks a little rusty but not bad. Could the stator be dead from the cap not being on, maybe moisture fried connections? Are these symptoms consistent with bad stator?
