Prairiewrench, point well taken. Hope you enjoy your new 700. You made such a good point about the values of the bikes I just got off the phone with my dealer to do the same, but he wants to screw me out of mine then I buy his. I only have 54 hours and 345 miles (wife is bad to leave the key on) and he wanted to give me $3500 tops for mine (half what I paid). Not gonna happen since im perfectly happy with mine. Sounds like you have a better dealer to work with.

LOL, what a crock,,$3500.00 but that is exactly what my point is! The dealers are gonna have to sell the 650's alot cheaper to move them! You could tear it all apart and sell it off piece by piece on ebay and get more than that outta it but that's alot of work. You could try to sell it yourself right away before others get wind of the 700's! Kawi put the info on their web site Monday, I had mine ordered Tuesday and the deal was made over the phone! Mine has 1300 miles on it and the dealer knows they are 1300 very hard miles! Good luck with yours! Don Grimes also emailed me, he got to ride a 700 Prairie and said it pulls very hard on the bottom end but didn't have room to open it up so no word on the top end!!!!!! I can't wait!

The dealers' are spitting nails now - they had no warning that the 700 was coming and now they will be stuck with a showroom full of 650's.

I know, I was out riding with a friend this weekend who is supposed to be getting a prairie 650 any week now, I told him to start the haggling at $5500 and not let the dealer push him over $6000. has anybody heard what the sticker on the '04 is gonna be? I cant see paying over $6000 for a new '03. And you all know that even though the majority of us dont see the need for the extra 64cc involved in doing a trade in, would have paid the extra cash for the 700 in an instant when we first went to the dealer to buy our prairie 650. So once the 700's hit the showroom the 650's are gonna sit. If I was a smart dealer, (that sounds funny) I wouldnt put any 700's on the floor until ALL my 650's were sold. I'd let em sit in the crates out back with polaris stickers on the outside so nobody would bother em'

LOL, The price for the 700 is $100 more than the 03 650 was= $7100
That would work if they are the only dealer in town or they would all get together and do the same thing. Thats what I would try to do is get with the other local dealers and have a talk.
