Left Leg getting lots of heat on new V Force
I have had my V for two days now. First day, I rode with jeans, so I didn't notice. Today, I rode around the neigborhood at low speeds with short pants and noticed an extreme amount of heat on my left leg near the pipe. It doesn't appear to be any type of exhaust leak, but the heat is extreme. Any other V Force owners notice this?

Exhaust pipe runs right below the plastics shroud on the left. Yes it is hot!!!.... It is tough to hit it with the leg when you are riding though cause it is recessed in about an inch or so. Time for a Kubi Cooker

Yeh they do get pretty warm, But I think mine is about equal for heat on both sides, the clutch cover gets pretty warm too. Feel your left fender above the muffler, I think I may put some reflective tape under mine to see if it will help, plastic is almost getting soft.

When the fan kicks in, it blows air right around the pipe (700 deg. F?) and right to your leg.
My friend came up with this solution:
Step 1: Wrap four or so hotdogs in aluminum foil and suspend them on the left side of that massive V-Force Engine.
Step 2: Ride for about 10 minutes per side, flipping the "dogs" over once.
Step 3: Stop for a break, whip out the plates, buns, and condiments.
Step 4: Carefully unwrap the foil and enjoy!!

I noticed the heat while I was riding in the 90 degree + heat of the South Carolina a few week back.. I only noticed it when I would stop to take a breather.. You can cut the heat down by installing some exhaust insulation on the pipe in that area.
I thought about fabricating an additional heat shield from 1/16 aluminum and exhaust insulation. A short piece attached with hose clamps should look factory and cut the heat through that area. Otherwise, just take the heat.
