Default What oil should i run in, P650

Ive been using tractor oil in my 650 for the last year in a half . My mechanic told me to stop doing that so i need to know what oil to run and what additives to look for.

I simply use a good-quality 10W40 oil. You can use synthetic, but regular oil does just fine. I actually change my engine and front diff oil (same viscosity) after every major ride that I go on (equals about every hundred miles). It only takes 3 quarts, and at about a $1.50 per quart, it's cheap preventative maintenance. Sure I could wait longer between changes, but this way I don't have to worry about possibly having small amounts of water in the oil, etc. The Kawasaki-recommended intervals between oil changes is too long for my comfort-level.

I use Castrol synthetic 5w/50 with Wix oil filters. If its real hot I use 20w/50.
I have 2K miles of very hard use.
