Default P650 vs Scrambler 2x4 with clutch and exhaust mod...

If these two quads were up against one another......which one is gonna kick the others butt in a flat race and on the trails? Just curious what you guys think since I am new to Kawi.

I know this may sound funky but the quads on my short list for purchase are the following:

The new P700...I like the power, floor boards, and wheel wells.....I am worried about the sheer weight, however.

KFX700...only real concerns are fuel consumption, and it being light weight in the front as it could fall back and squash my head to mush coming out of a steep creek bank.

New Scrambler/Trail Blazer/Sport 400 2x4 modded out for about 42 HP...my last choice, have heard of twitchy steering, and semi outdated suspension, but I do like the floor boards and wider wheel wells even though this model is somewhat dated.

What kind of riding do you like to do? Mudding? Jumping? Straight out speed? No quad will squash your head, if your wearing a helmet. So please wear a helmet.

Hi bbertram,

I do some mudding, but not the waist hight stuff, I like to go up steep creek banks, and flat out fast trail riding in the woods and fields......and yes I prolly should wear my helmet

Hmmm....I'm thinking a praire 700 would suit your needs well, its fast on trails, feels nimble and has 4x4 with a locker if you need it. What quads do your friends have, its nice to out do your friends but its also nice to have something like their quads so you can all do the same thing. Like if they have 4x4 you should get 4x4, if they have a sport quad you should get a sport quad.

I will be riding with friends and family that are using Scrambler 400 2x4, Suzuki Z400, and a 300 and 400 EX's.

I have heard that P650 is actually a contender with sport quads for speed and agility.....plus has the muscle for 4X4 stuff. Is that true. If I get the new P700 will I have the best of all worlds?

All i would have to say is go for it!!!!!! You have hit the nail right on the head so to speak. Your gonna spank the scrambler,300 ex, and not to sure about the 400 ex and the z400. I guess if you had enough space you might be able to beat them.... but if you want a racing machine go by a v 7000 or a banshee... if you want the best or bolth worlds go ride a 650 prairie and then just think the 700 has more cc's.

The problem with getting a Praire 700 when your friends have sport quads is that you will destroy them when it comes to mudding and you will start to love mudding and your friends will not be able to hang and will miss out on the fun. If you get the same type of quad as them there will be more fun to be had.

Well maybe I can exercise some self control when I am with them on the mudding.......Trail riding will prolly be what we do the most.

The prairie will do most everything the sportquads will do plus alot more UNLESS your friends do alot of jumping. The Prairie will jump and actually is very well balanced when jumping, but keep in mind this quad is pushing 700 pounds with all the trimmings, and thats not including you. It will do it , but its not really what its made for.
