NYVForce,
Not to get too far off track, but how do you like the HMF Duals? Do you run the Hunter Core? How LOUD are they (db wise)? I'm concidering a set, but so far all of the duals I have heard are way too loud.
Thanks.

Hey Green700, I said in an earlier thread that the 700 is clutched very well out of the box. It let's the engine rev to peak HP 6400-6500 RPM until shiftout. We have probably close to 100 Dyno runs and countless runs through the timers. If they are going quicker with a primary spring change, espectialy a stiffer spring, it's because they are over reving past peak torque.
Less power at the wheels sometimes goes quicker (less wheel spin and wheely)

the simple fact is that anytime you make change to the pipe with an auto tranny quad you must change the primary spring to match the powwer and speed increased through the clutchs system...
wtih a lot of testing, you should get most of it with another stiffer spring...

In stock form the bike over revs to 7000-7200 too early (within 250-300') Those runs you are referring to DYNoguy i think were with the first Dalton prototype flyweights. Although they did produce better 300' times, they did not at that time increase top end speed. Another prototype did produce some top end, with the same as stock in 300 '. We have more spring prototypes and flyweight designs(and a few other things) in the works to experiment with on our KFX700. We will also experiment with twin pipes(we have done some already) to evaluate the effects on powerband width and output ,operating rpm etc.and the effects on clutching. We will not have products available for the kfx until the end of July or first of Aug.

Thanks for clearing that up HELIX, I was trying to go from memory as I am at the house not the shop. The point I was trying to make is I don't think a stiffer primary spring is going to help these guys (buy over reving more) and they should wait until the Dalton kit is ready.
By the way, how was Newyork??
