I have read so many things about belt adj. but i was just wondering has everyone came up up with a idotproof way to check the measurement @ 13lbs of pressure. I use a fish gauge to check it now but, i wish i had a better way. Any homemade tools? Pic's of of such a tool would be outstanding. Thanks!!

 

Guys is there an easy way to get the right tension on the drive belt? Help ive already got grooves in the clutch and need to get another and wanted to make sure that the belt is set prefect

 

Try lifting a 12lb dumbell with one finger to get the "feel" and then push with that same pressure right afterwards on the belt.

 

will that be close enough for something that pulling al that weight and cost so much to replace?

 

Yes, if you are reasonably sensitive you will get it close enough.

I made mine just a little tight that way, but it worked out fine.

You could get it a little loose too, I suppose.

If you don't want a fish scale, or a belt tension meter, you may have to use the dumbell method.
