Default Front Wheel Bearing Failure on the V-Force

Hey Group,

Well today, me and my sons went to a mx (practice only) track to get in a solid day of riding. I just picked up a shiny new Z-400 for my oldest son this week and we/ he was looking forward to go ride some mx since we mostly ride aggressive trails for cross country racing practice.

Okay now onto the downside, while riding very aggressively and cutting lap times within a second and 1/2 from the fastest bike riders there today, I had front wheel bearing failures. The right front wheel bearing completely came apart, and after checking my left front it is also about ready to do the same.

I have somewhere between 75 and 100 hours on my quad, I know its less than 100, cause the belt light hasn't tripped yet...so this is something to be aware of......I am assuming!

I would recommend that if you have more than 50 hours of aggressive riding on your V , that you jack up the front wheels and check your bearings, or take it to your dealer and have them check it for you.

Has anyone else had this happen??

I do know that a few of the Team Green riders had the exact same thing happen......

"Nyroc" do you know if the V- is using the same front wheel bearing as the Prairies?? If so do you have a part# , bearing specs, or any info on an upgraded heavier duty bearing, and also do the Prairies have this same problem too??

I know I could just take into my dealer ( an hour away) but I do not want to go thru the waiting process that this usually entails, also I have enough mechanical ability that I am sure I can fix this, as long as the spindle is not damaged also. We did not get back until late so I haven't had time to pull the wheel & hub yet to check for more damage.

I was truly impressed with my V-Force on this MX track, the track its self was very quad friendly in both the atmosphere and the actual track layout. While still being a challenging track for the bikes also. The track is located in Newcomerstown, Ohio and his called Indian Mound Raceway, the facility is very nice and very well maintained throughout the entire day of riding. The owner would stop riding every couple hours, and re-water and disk the track, in which kept the dust way down and also kept the bike riders happy. If your in this area of Ohio and looking for a good place to ride, I highly recommend....you can get track info and directions at www.pitracer.com

Since I was without my quad most of today, I was able to get a solid couple hours of seat time on the Z-400,....great little bike also, and I am very happy that I bought one for my son as an entry level racer for him, and also after ringing the Z out today , I am even more convinced that the V-Force is definitely one of the best (overall) quads I have ridden....

Yes I have had the same problem, I think it is just due to the extra weight. There is no real solution other than to replace the bearings.
